Shiplog Entry: 12345.11

This entry is a bit later then usual, but there is a valid reason for this, we left the ship for about a week or 2 in an attempt to contact other creatures in the one of the towns we saw. So we gathered up all the materials we had for nice diamond armour, made a jet-pack and glider to travel fast in the air, and set sail for the unknown.

2014-09-19_11.35.59Close to our shuttle was the first small town, witch looked rather deserted when we flew past it before we crashed. But we wanted to give it a go never the less, if there are no helpful creatures we can at least scavenge the land for materials for a bit. This how ever was a slight misunderstanding, the town was deserted but had a loads of hostile creatures in it.

2014-09-19_11.44.17While fighting for our lives, we raided the crap out of the place and took everything that was worth anything to us, even if we already had enough of it stored in our little base. Shortly after we arrived though we realized we forgotten one of the most important things we needed to survive, witch is food. After a quick visit back to our base, we started to clean out some more buildings to replenish our stock pile of materials. Leaving some building totally empty behind while searching for new location of opportunity.

2014-09-19_13.18.49While being so focussed on getting the goodies, we totally over looked a few hostile creatures in one of the skyscrapers, and we got kicked of and send back to the cloning facility …… twice in a row ….. the second time how ever we simply dropped to death with getting the final push cause we got scared and moved the wrong way ….

Rather quickly we realized we were running out of places to raid, and the things we were getting just kept on adding to the stacks we already had. Thus we went back to refuel and restock, to find more towns with maybe some more interesting buildings. This is also the point were we lost track of time, cause we found another town, and it was rather huge compared to the one close to our base. It looked like this was a rather populated part of the planet, but for some reason the people died out and left all there things behind in the process. It kind of makes us wonder what actually happened on this planet to make it this deserted. The one thing we were glad to see though was some kind of power-plant, that had all kinds of good stuff inside it. Being as abandoned as the rest of the town, the reactor had obviously melted down and made the area rather dangerous to be around, but we manned up and cleaned out the dangerous fuel so we could salvage the goods from the reactor for our own needs.

2014-09-19_14.25.32 2014-09-19_15.55.08The town had about 3 of these reactor towers, and we cleaned them all out so we can start our own power production to patch up our shuttle in due time. With a few more near death experiences we managed to pull out a massive amount of loot before we went back to the base. And only once we started to gather up the loot in separate chests, we started to realize how long we had been away from home and dint get to log our adventures in the this ship log.

We took a few special tokens with us from our journey and decorated the entrance to our shuttle with it, so we can remind ourself of the epic adventure we had getting the things we are going to build over the coming few weeks.

To prevent this log entry from getting to long, we will included a few shots of the loot stash and tokens, and we are going to hit the sack after a few more PBJ’s, we need a lot of rest now after all the flying around and fighting of hordes of angry mobs. After all we don’t want to make a mistake when making our own reactor and blow up all that we worked on.

Hopefully we can keep track of time a bit better for our next entry as well, but i’m expecting to be very busy using all the loot you just saw.

Shiplog Entry: 12345.10

Time to remove the small annoyances from our live, we have been gathering materials the fools way so far and that needs to change if we want more free time to build and do other things. So we looked at something called Steve’s Factory Manager, and though we should give it a go to process all the dust we gathered so far.

2014-09-18_06.08.59Even though we have a nice chair to sit in, doing this time after time to get a few resources is not a very effective way of doing things. So we gathered up the little amount of rare resources we had, and started to make an automated factory for this process. We will have to watch how it goes, and expand it to all other types of sieveable materials later on.

2014-09-18_07.01.03

Our first tests went rather well, the process speed of this set up is rather insane, so we had to test how to move the items into storage solutions quick enough. And we had to find a good way to move the items to be processed into it from our storage as well. Sounds like an easy task, but doing this in a effective way can be rather a challenge.

2014-09-18_07.54.00After a little while we found a set up that suits our needs, it still needs a little bit of tinkering, but we can make a finallized set up now and leave it doing its thing. The only question that remains now is how big our buffers need to be so we have plenty of time to automate the end of the process. We still have a lot of space to clear out, and then we can start picking a location for the rest of the automation we still need to set up.

In the mean time the buffer chest from our mob trap kind of filled up, so we used what ever spare time we had left to improve the storage options there. Its still far from perfect, but looking at the amount of thing coming from the trap, we are going to be forced to throw away a lot of stuff at some point. But we will see how that goes once we get to that point, for now we will keep on messing about a little bit until we find something we like.

Shiplog Entry: 12345.09

The past week has been a week of looking up our options, and cleaning up some things in the ship. Now that we set up a solid base of materials we need to look into a more permanent solution to things like power automation and all other things we need done. But since our stuff is currently located all across the ship and area below it, its hard to see what we have and where we have it. So the first thing we need to do is clean that up a bit, and localize our materials to 1 spot where we can easily make things.

2014-09-18_04.10.31 2014-09-18_04.10.46

So we cleaned out the ship and moved all the things to below ground close to our mob trap device, the only things that remain upstairs is our food solutions our bed and cloning devices. And obviously the set ups we have outside are still there as well since they are not in the way of things atm, and not horrible far away from were we need them to be for the moment.

We started to look into making a reactor of some kind, but that still seems a little ways of, so we looked into the materials needed and decided to make a working area so we can at least get a small reactor up and running some time soon.

2014-09-18_04.29.29For the moment we stopped to follow IMPA’s advice to the letter, simply because we know where we are at in terms of technology and we don’t want to keep building and rebuilding things just because IMPA though it was a good idea. At the moment we kinda ran out of some basic materials, so we have spend the rest of the week sieving more dust and gravel to get the resources we need, and we most likely will be doing that a lot more for the coming few days as well.

Any ways enough talking, time to get back to the Sieve and get the job done, the sooner we get the power we want the sooner we can start making awesome things and work our way off this dusty planet.

Shiplog Entry: 12345.08

The log entry of upgrades, the High-Oven is helping us out so much that we had no issue upgrading the smeltery at a fast pace. It is now full size, with casting tables and basins on all side, an automated input and is capable of storing around 32 units to smelt down. This allowed us to process some things we had stockpiled up for when we wanted to start Pneumatics.

2014-09-16_09.08.19

We worked a lot on the monster trap we wanted to try and make, and discoverd a way to transport monsters true transport belts so we are able to get all monsters in our trap to a central location. This is also going to help a lot to clean out our trenches around the base at some point, although that is more of a long term project. Since we tested everything and knew what we needed to make it happen we build a medium size mob trap that can be expanded if we need to at some point.

2014-09-16_17.09.30Since we wanted to do Pneumatics we also had to expand our base below the ground, we are running out of space outside the ship and inside is already way to cramped with storage solutions. We wasted no time and started working downstairs to hollow out the area still within the boundary’s of trenches we have upstairs. This way we can also connect the trap we build into our build, and automated the collection of loot from that to a storage we might later revise up on. Since we now have a smeltery and high-oven the iron supply stacked true the roof and we had no issue setting up a basic Pneumatic system to get us started. From this we can quickly work our way up and start semi automation on it to get our circuit-boards and other materials.

2014-09-16_09.43.46Our compressors are set up in-line on purpose, connected with redstone that links up to the pressure tube to prevent the system from blowing up due to high pressure. This system was however very waste full because we had to brake our pressure chamber each time we used it in order to get our materials out, and thus loosing pressure each time we made something. We pulled some long hours after this but we managed to get it to a point were we have 2 chambers now for most crafting purposes, and we have automated the in- /output of the chambers so the compressors wont have to run as much. Since making circuit boards manually requires quite a bit of work and time, we also went straight for automating that part, this seriously improves the time we spend on making these things and we dont have to be around while there being processed.

2014-09-16_23.13.04As you can see we also removed the ladder we had, and replaced it with a elevator to reduce our effort in getting up and down all the time. This set up is not going to stay in this location, but at least we can start planning out in more detailed line now, and make more dedicated rooms for each type of system we need to set up. We used our first circuit board to replace our old generators with an ender generator, so our water and cloning system wont run short on power unexpected.

We also wanted to finish the trap, so it could start gathering us some extra goodies, so we ended up spending our extra time on that. Sadly enough we had spend so much time on the Pneumatic system, we had lost most of our concentration on that. Witch resulted in us making a mistake in the final set up and getting killed by a Zombie on a corner from the collection/killing area of the trap …. We are so happy we have set up our cloning devices, because that is the second time the eternal void was calling us, and nearly had his way with our soul. We quickly rounded up the work we had left to do, and finalized the set up to at least work and collect things, we will have to fine tune it later.

2014-09-16_23.12.53

Things are really rocking and rolling now, we can not wait to get working on things again, some good power source and resource automation is most likely going to be our next objective. But its also possible we will make a temp set up first and try to go straight for the big stuff, depending on how long that will take us to achieve. For now we need some serious resting after all this hard work, time to eat a PBJ or two and hit the sack asap ….

Shiplog Entry: 12345.07

After a long debate amongst the ships crew, we decided it was finally time to fully go for cloning technology, we had a number of close calls in the past few days and are starting to fear our lives a little bit to much. So we mustered up our best motivation and started farming some soulsand to get the required quartz, and went ahead and build a nice set up in the ship to store the clones.

2014-09-15_15.11.54

In the mean while we have been gathering up rubble rocks from our smooth stone farm, and from sieving dust, we utilized those rubble’s and made a few more true smelting cobble stone and hammering down the smooth stone produced from it. We took all we had and stuck them in the crucible that was on top of the ship and started making a smeltery and high-oven for our metal production. While doing some farming on the rubble bits, we had a rather unfortunate accident and had to make quick use of the cloning service to not be cast into the void. For some reason during the day cycle a mini-ghast, with an endermen riding its back, got teleported around, because the endermen was not loving the sunshine. He took us out in 3 hits with out us being able to hit back, every time we turned when we realized what happened he teleported again leaving us frustrated and hurt until his next attempt. After cloning we managed to do some payback with our backup mattock cause he found a small spot of shadow to rest in for a few second, witch became his ticket into the void beyond this world.

Lucky enough that dint keep us from completing our project, and we finished the high-oven and smeltery shortly after our duel with the teleporting monster of flight ….

2014-09-15_15.11.25We also cleaned up the crucible on top of the ship and made some more adjustments left and right to improve the overall look of the area. Quickly we realized that now he had more processing device then we had actual material gathering going on, so we made a semi automated gravel machine to the side of the ship, we semi automated our dirt production and we prepared for the upcoming struggle with pneumatics. We needed squids for some seeds that are required in recipes to make printed circuit boards, witch in terms are the building stones of automated production of many things.

2014-09-15_15.12.22 2014-09-15_16.13.502014-09-16_09.08.06

We also started some preparation in order to farm some of the monsters on this planet, but that are not fixed plans or layouts at this point, so far only theory crafting and small scale testing, but more on that soon. For now back to farming food and water so we expand even more rapidly and get our stuff sorted.

Technical Issues.

Hey hey,

Due to some technical issues there is a small gap in the postings, as a result of that the size of the logs will increase and they will included the whole days work instead of the weekly periods in minecraft. In sort that will mean there are going be 2 large blog entry’s that will cover all the changes so far, and from there on out the rest will posted again in a shorter format to keep it more reader friendly.

Sorry for the troubles, sometimes there are just things you cannot control yourself and you are left to depend on others to get things sorted.

Kr,
LordBufu

# Side-note: it seem 2 or 3 screen-shots have also disappeared, not sure what happend, ill try to included more screenshot from below ground after the the .08 log entry  >.<  …. Dang electronics ….

Shiplog Entry: 12345.06

The security perimeter is working nice, we can now also work outside during the night time. This has really improved our work speed on getting things done, the only issue it has is that every once in a while a small spider gets true the fence. But other the that the inner area is save for night time building and farming.

2014-09-14_13.46.16

We also planted a few fruit trees, and over time we moved the detached engine back on to the ship, all the dust from on top of the ship has been removed so we can start to look at what damage we need to repair. Close to the ship we started to make a smeltery so we can increase our metal production and perhaps start working on more advance machines.

2014-09-15_04.04.19Soon we will start to move around things a bit more to make sure we can place all the hot machines outside and our low heat automation below the ship. But full automation is still far away for now, we need air pressure and all sort of other things to get us started on making the equipment.

For now we are doing a lot of the same things over and over again, trying to get the smeltery up and running, while in the mean time we get our water and food supply back up to a good amount.

What a journey it has been so far, it has been a while since the last entry simply because we have been doing a lot of work. The creatures at night time where getting in our way of setting up a full scale production, so we kicked the security perimeter into gear.

2014-09-14_01.49.48

2014-09-14_03.05.41

Slowly we expanded the area, for as much as our food and water would allow us, we spend some good time sitting near our plants to provide them with additional water.  So they would grow faster and we could do more work outside.

Sadly enough being outside takes a rather big chunk out of our water supply as well, so we had to keep going from outside to inside to manage our tree farm. As our farm expanded we did manage to get quite a bit of work done.

2014-09-14_09.16.10

Spilling a lot of sweat on the ground we finally managed to complete the perimeter and can now work on fencing the area of and building the farms in the save area.

2014-09-14_10.53.11

2014-09-14_11.33.44

We managed to breed a couple of chicken from the eggs we found in the dust sieve process, and set up a small breeding area below the ship for now. When typing this into the log it almost seems as if we did hardly anything, but man using these primitive tool really make things last a lot longer then expected. Hopefully the fencing and beautifications are a tag bit quicker to get done, although there is still quite a bit of dust we need to replace with stone so we can eventually build below the ground as well.

More updates will follow soon, but first we need to rest a little bit from all this hard work.

Shiplog Entry: 12345.04

Even though it has been a good week since our last entry, not much has happened, most of the time we have been waiting for trees to grow. But we finally got some progress done near the end of the week, and things are starting to look a lot better from here on out.

2014-09-14_01.06.04First we managed to stock up some repair materials for our shovel, so we could work on the perimeter around the ship. We had already done a little bit of work to see what dimensions we needed for a proper manual tree farm, we also included an area for food farming now and expanded our trench a lot.

After all that work we saw our food was getting a big hit from the work outside and also the water was going down rapidly. If we want to keep this up we need to have power so we can produce water directly from leaves and saplings, while getting sticks in return. And the food is also still a problem we can not solve in a quick way, so we need to use the area outside the shuttle to start some bigger food production.

2014-09-14_01.49.48 We started to uncover the shuttle its rear of the dust we placed, to make room for water production, and set up a little bit of a farm with some spare dirt we had from the purify process that got us our water so far. There is going to be quite a lot of work that needs to be done now, but it seems we are slowly getting to the point we wanted to be at.

With a bit of luck we might be able to finish the perimeter soon, and start on fencing so we can keep the spiders out at night. Slowly resources like metal are becomming a problem though, we have stopped sieving dust as we simply have to much from the work outside. And we have started to manually convert cobble stone into gravel, witch in terms give a bit better yield for metals and metal types.

For now we need to quickly get back to work, and get something sorted for the food so we can finish the perimeter and use the farm areas outside for wood and leave production.

Shiplog Entry: 12345.03

Slowly progress is being made, still hanging on by a tiny thread though in terms of food and water, but we managed to expand the farm below the ground. With help of IMPA we got a nice Oak Sapling so we can finally get us some apples and maybe produce a apple tree.

2014-09-13_07.39.02Since we had the crucible we made a save spot on top of the shuttle for now, and used the fuel to set up our smelting process. We had enough resources to also make us a cobblestone generator with the use of transfer nodes, the crucible did a good job at making us our first lava.

2014-09-13_07.42.39

From this point forward progress can be started on the outside security, so we can farm trees and build the hotter machines outside of our shuttle to preserve water. At the moment everything is stuck on getting wood, planting trees outside would provide the creatures with shade to survive during the day. And that would be the last thing we want at this point in time. As soon as we have spare wood for another barrel, and some extra bones, we can start the dig process to create a “save-zone” around the shuttle.

The help from IMPA is slowing down now as well as it supplied us with the bare basics by now, we did manage to get some nice lead stone thrusters and a flux capacitor that has power stored in it. But it seems it will be a while now before we get anything use full from IMPA again, we will need to survive with out it for a while now.

For now a long sleep to get the hectic few days of my back, a little bit more stress in the coming few days but at this rate we should be save from death (unless we wonder out at night). So we can finally stabilize something more constructive for water and food, the shuttle and it storage are quickly running out of space.
